Our efforts:

We are holding several (2-4) district meetings with representatives and senators to meet about mandating education on period products and trying to advocate for including period products in benefit programs. We are also hosting a fundraiser for the organization Days for Girls by running a yoga event, partnering with a company, and asking for donations. Lastly, we're hosting an event to education about period poverty, the IAD movement, and sustainability.

Lobbying Issue:

Mandating education on period products and trying to advocate for including period products in benefit programs

We are lobbying

  • Congresswoman Grace Meng of New York's District 6

  • Representative Carolyn B Maloney for New York's 12th District

  • State Senator Roxanne Persaud for New York's 19th District

Voices from the front:

“an intersectional and holistic period poverty framework means that we address all aspects of period poverty including but not limited to having better education for all on menstrual health, advocating for free period products in public spaces, information on what materials are put in period period products, fundraising to supply period products for those in need, and finding more environmentally sustainable period products.” - Amelia Lehv NYC
